Programs Overview

HPD's programs form partnerships statewide and in several areas of endeavor. Projects involving Tax Credits, Grants, and Loans form economic partnerships with homeowners, entrepreneurs and community development organizations such as MainStreet.

The State Archaeological Permit Program, State and National Register programs and Archaeological Records Management Section form alliances with community researchers, consultants, engineering firms, universities and others conducting surveys of archaeological resources or architecture that contribute to New Mexico's cultural heritage.

Our Outreach programs, such as Heritage Preservation Month and Archaeology Fair take us to every corner of New Mexico and give communities the chance to highlight their preservation achievements while giving HPD an opportunity to learn more about the communities in which our programs operate.
